Take a small cereal bowl or Tupperware dish and fill it with water. Then place the bowl in a microwave for one minute on high temperature.

After the water is boiled add 2-3 drops of household glass cleaner or ammonia in the water. You can also add diamond cleaning solution.

After that place your diamond earring in the solution for 2 minutes or until water has cooled to the touch.

Then very carefully remove your earring from the solution and use a soft toothbrush to remove the dirt, hair spray, lotion or hair gel which is build up on the lower side of your diamond. But you must always keep in mind that you must lift your earring by the post and not the diamond.

After finishing with your cleaning wipe your earring with fresh water for final cleaning and then place it on a dry paper towel for five minutes and allow it to dry.

These are some of the simple and easy ways through which you can clean your diamond earring without spending much of your fortune.

Conn. Senate dropout reminds voters he’s on ballot – Yahoo! News

HARTFORD, Conn. – Former U.S. Rep. Rob Simmons plans to run a campaign ad reminding voters that he’s still on the Republican primary ballot in Connecticut’s U.S. Senate race, a fresh sign that the campaign dropout may return.

Simmons on Wednesday told The Associated Press that he decided Tuesday night to run the ad, which he’s calling “a public service announcement,” beginning this weekend. Simmons said many of his supporters don’t know his name is still on the Aug. 10 primary ballot, despite his announcement in May that he was “curtailing” his campaign after former wrestling executive Linda McMahon won the state Republican endorsement.

“I felt that it was a fair thing and a loyal thing to my supporters to let them know that I was on the ballot,” he said.

Simmons said he was not officially restarting his Senate campaign. While he still has a mostly empty campaign office and a phone line, nearly all his staff have moved on to work for other candidates.

“However it works out, it remains to be seen,” he said. Simmons still has about $700,000 in his campaign account and did not rule out additional ads. According to a private public relations firm hired by Simmons, the ad buy cost approximately $350,000 and will run statewide.

Besides McMahon, financial expert Peter Schiff has been campaigning for the Republican nomination.

Some of Simmons’ supporters, many from his former eastern Connecticut congressional district, have been urging him to return to the race and challenge the wealthy McMahon, whose World Wrestling Entertainment and its programming have been criticized by the Democrats.

A Facebook page dubbed “Vote Simmons in the Primary” surfaced shortly after the GOP convention and national conservative commentator Ann Coulter recently suggested Simmons should run, given McMahon’s history with the WWE.

Simmons has vacillated about whether he’s in or out of the race.

Before the May convention, he said he would not remain in the race if he was not endorsed. But after McMahon surprised many of the party faithful by winning the party’s backing, Simmons vowed that night to continue. Several days later, he announced he was “curtailing” his campaign, acknowledging it would be difficult to compete with McMahon’s $50 million.

When asked by a Hartford Courant columnist last week about whether he might restart his campaign, Simmons said he was “thinking about it.” But he later told the AP that any speculation about his return to the race was just “chatter.”

“Over the past two months, he’s been engaged in a very strange and erratic effort to reconcile his promise not to run with his desire to return to Washington,” McMahon spokesman Ed Patru said in a statement Wednesday. “Today, we are as confused as everyone else.”

In his ad, Simmons does not mention McMahon or Schiff. Rather, he sits on a stool and talks about the importance of voting “with your heart and your head,” mentioning how bailouts and tax increases have crippled the economy and cost jobs. He talks about the importance of small business, national security and the importance of backing a candidate who will be an advocate for veterans.

Simmons is a Vietnam War veteran. The endorsed Democratic candidate, Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, has come under fire for misspeaking about his military service.

“In the Republican primary on Aug. 10th, you do have a choice,” he tells the audience.

Simmons brushed aside a question about whether his ad might anger some Republicans who are trying to rally support behind one candidate in hopes of finally winning the seat currently held by the retiring U.S. Sen. Chris Dodd.

“I’ve been in political life for 20 years. I’m accustomed to some people not being happy with me,” he said. “It’s just the way it is.”

Israel: Gaza aid ship diverts to Egypt – Yahoo! News

JERUSALEM – A Libyan boat carrying supplies for Gaza was sailing toward Egypt late Tuesday instead of trying to run a naval blockade of the Palestinian territory, Israeli military officials said, apparently defusing a potential confrontation on the high seas.

The Israelis said the ship captain informed the Israeli navy ships tailing him that he was heading for the Egyptian port of El-Arish.

Even so, they said Israeli naval vessels would continue to accompany the Libyan ship, because a last-minute course change could point the ship toward Gaza. El Arish is in the Egyptian Sinai desert next to Gaza.

The Israeli officials spoke late Tuesday on condition of anonymity because no announcement was made.

Just before midnight, the ship’s crew said they were stuck because of engine trouble. In a recording played on Israel Radio, a crew member said he did not know how long it would take to repair the main engine and resume their journey.

The latest challenge to the blockade came a day after Israel’s military admitted mistakes in the May 31 confrontation aboard a Turkish ship that left nine pro-Palestinian activists dead and brought a wave of world criticism that forced the Jewish state to ease restrictions imposed on the Hamas-ruled territory.

Earlier the Israeli military confirmed that it made contact with the Libyan vessel and said “the navy has begun preparing to stop the ship.” Organizers said they were ordered to divert to el-Arish.

The Gadhafi International Charity and Development Foundation, which is organizing the mission, said the Moldovan-flagged Amalthea, left Greece on Saturday carrying 2,000 tons of food and medical supplies.

The foundation is headed by the son of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi.

Israeli government spokesman Mark Regev repeated a standing offer earlier Tuesday, inviting the activists to sail to the Israeli port of Ashdod and unload the supplies there.

On Monday Egyptian officials said if the Libyan ship docked at El Arish, Egypt would transfer its supplies to Gaza.

The latest encounter came less than two months after Israeli commandos clashed with protesters aboard the Turkish vessel Mavi Marmara. Several other aid ships have been commandeered without incident and towed to Ashdod.

Israel dismisses the need for ships to bring aid to Gaza. Israel responded to international pressure over the bloody May 31 raid by easing the movement of goods through land crossings. It canceled its list of a few permitted humanitarian items and replaced it with the opposite — a list of banned items, mostly weapons and products that can be used for military purposes — allowing in all the rest.

But it maintained the naval blockade, imposed after Hamas overran the Palestinian territory in June 2007.

Israel insists the naval blockade on Gaza is vital to keep rockets, missiles, explosives and other weapons out of the hands of the Islamic militant group, which is sworn to the destruction of Israel and has dispatched suicide bombers who have killed hundreds of Israelis.

The Gaza blockade and the flotillas challenging it have already caused Israel serious diplomatic damage, putting it on the defensive against demands for inquiries, criticism for its role in the plight of Gaza and underlining a growing rift with Turkey, once one of its few allies in the Muslim world.

On Tuesday, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said Ankara will keep pushing for an international inquiry into the Israeli raid on May 31.

Israel says its commandos were defending themselves after being attacked by pro-Palestinian activists, and has resisted calls for a U.N.-led inquiry into the raid. Activists on board the ship have said they acted in self-defense after Israeli troops landed on their ship.

Findings released Monday from a military-commissioned report found that flawed intelligence-gathering and planning led to the botched May 31 raid but also said the commandos were justified in opening fire and killing nine after being confronted by violent pro-Palestinian activists on board one of the ships.

Israel also has appointed a civilian inquiry with a mandate limited to investigating the legality of the operation. Two international observers have been attached to the civilian commission, which is led by a retired Israeli Supreme Court judge.

In a development related to the May 31 raid, Israel’s parliament on Tuesday voted to remove privileges from an Arab member, Hanin Zoabi, who was on board one of the other ships in the Turkish flotilla. She will not be allowed to leave the country, have a diplomatic passport or get her legal fees covered by the parliament.

I am a really funny person. I get laughs like crazy. It’s extraordinary how many people just love to sit around me and listen to the humorous jokes coming out of my lovely mouth. For real, on a daily basis I must have a few people circling around me just cracking up at how funny I am in the way I take everyday happenings and “humorize” them.

And these people inevitably ask me how they too can become as funny as I am. And I always tell them the same thing. I explain that it’s very simple to become humorous, and you always have enough content to play with, as you are going to use regular circumstances and turn them into jokes. Here’s how I do it!

• Be observant. You have to understand the basics of human life. What are the things we humans do on a daily basis? What are the “staples” of living? You want to begin putting together a list of all the normalities of our lives.
• Find the “line” of regularity. This means, for each human circumstance we all experience, decide what you think is “normal” in that situation. You must determine what is ordinary and what is not.
• Humorize odd happenings. Anyime something happens in the human circumstances that doesn’t fit your criteria for “normal” you point it out and exaggerate it. It’s just that simple.

I tell everybody these basics, and I strongly suggest everybody watch and listen to George Carlin a few times. He was fabulous at this. He often spoken about how he had a list of over a thousand “normal” scenarios, and then he would run against them what he sees happen in his daily life to expose their “sillyness” or “stupidity”.

Go ahead put this stuff into play and let me know it all works out for you. Like I said, I am super funny and people love my jokes!
